Steelers still run the north

Even after all the departures and lack of free agent signings this offseason, the Steelers are still atop the AFC North, according to Around the NFL’s Marc Sessler. He cites having Ben Roethlisberger and the rest of his offensive weapons as the team’s biggest asset.

What’s next for the Steelers will be rebuilding the secondary, filling the holes at outside linebacker and finding a playmaker at tight end. He puts the Ravens slightly below the Steelers as they’ve had even more departures this offseason, particularly offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak, who left for the head coaching position in Denver.

Joe Flacco will have his fourth offensive coordinator in as many years and the team is in need of a wide receiver unless they think old-ass Steve Smith isn’t going to run out of gas soon. The Bengals are third down because in spite of their talented roster (except at quarterback) they still couldn’t make it to the second round of the playoffs unless by chance they can secure a first-round bye. Also the Browns are a mess.

Who’s No. 2

Bob Labriola was asked who he would pick as the Steelers No. 2 wideout, Markus Wheaton or Martavis Bryant?

He explained that at this stage it would be difficult to completely evaluate Bryant because of the small sample-size so far but he expects over the course of the next few seasons that Wheaton might get more catches than Bryant but Bryant could end up with the higher average per reception and more touchdowns because of his size and speed.

Schedule is ready

Mike Florio of PFT says that while the NFL currently plans to release the 2015 NFL Regular Season Schedule on Thursday, April 23rd, the schedule has been made and is ready to be revealed. He says that it could come as earlier than predicted but definitely no later than next Thursday.

I made a mock schedule for the Steelers 2015 Regular Season Schedule and I’m as anxious to see the real one as I am to see how close I came with my mock. Who do you think the Steelers will play in their first game?
