What We Learned During Week 2 of NFL OTA’s:

  • Broncos Fart Tax
  • Quarterback Dance Off
  • Who should NFL MVP trophy be named after?
  • Dolphins kicker injured in kickball game
  • Peterson returns to the Vikings
  • Cam gets paid
  • Western PA QB legends honored in Pittsburgh

NFL OTAs are in full swing and we’re going to hear plenty of stories about which new player is blowing up for his new team or which seasoned veteran is having a renaissance already but never forget that we are still months away from any football actually being played.

It’s a long journey to get to the NFL Regular Season each year and once it gets here it’s never long enough. So enjoy these activities while they are here, at least to get a little taste of what’s to come.

Fart Tax

Every once in a while we get word of the locker room behavior of an NFL team and sometimes it’s disturbing and upsetting to hear like was the case in the Miami Dolphins locker room bullying scandal of a few years back and sometimes it’s a story that makes you giggle.

This is a story of the latter. Apparently, according to Denver Broncos beat reporter Nicki Jhabvala, the Broncos have a bit of a flatulence problem in team meetings. The biggest fart offender; linebacker Von Miller. It got to the point where the players instituted a tax system to fine players for farting in team meetings.

I can’t imagine how bad his farts would have to be for the players to make him pay up it he lets one rip in a team meeting but then again I’ve never been in an enclosed room with a bunch of NFL players who eat a ton of food on a regular basis before. It also makes me wonder if they employ the “Whoever smelt it; dealt it” policy or if they just always assume Miller did it.
