What We Learned This Week in the NFL Offseason:

  • Dolphins Cancer Challenge
  • NFL-NFLPA Brady settlement
  • NFL coaches on the hot seat
  • Pro Football Hall of Fame policy on posthumous enshrines
  • Steelers Ben Roethlisberger on 2015 offense

Football is back Steeler Nation! The grass is freshly cut on Chuck Noll Field and the pads are on. The Steelers kicked off their 50th season of training camp at Saint Vincent College with a celebration featuring players from the past and a great first practice to officially kick off the 2015 season.

It was a hot day in Latrobe on Sunday and the stands were packed full of Steeler Nation faithful waiting for autographs and to watch the Steelers take the field. Training camp was kicked off with a fresh new extension for general manager Kevin Colbert.

The Steelers players arrived at camp on Saturday afternoon and Steelers All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown arrived in style with a tricked out custom Rolls Royce complete with Steelers logo decals on the side view mirrors and his signature on the side of the car. His brother, Desmond, was the driver making him the luckiest winner of rock, paper, scissors in the history of the world.

The Steelers first practice opened with a mass as well as Steelers president Art Rooney II speaking to the crowd. The team opened the practice the same way they opened their OTA drills, with the ball on the 2-yard line. Working on the red zone and goal line offense is a good plan; the new two point conversion rule is an added incentive.
