Steelers vs. Bills: Preseason TV, schedule, radio, live stream
By Kim Myers
The Steelers head to Buffalo to take on the Bills for their regular season dress rehearsal game. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said earlier in the week that he planned this week out to be the mock-regular season for the team.
"“In a lot of ways, this is like a mock in-season week for us. Or at least that’s the way we are presenting information to the guys. From a planning standpoint, it doesn’t fully represent the in-season work we put in, but we do want to represent the process.” – Mike Tomlin"
Typically, the third preseason game of the year is the game the starters will play the longest and will be more regular-season-like in preparation. It helps that the Steelers broke training camp last weekend and practiced in their regular South Side facilities all week-long.
With the Steelers having the additional preseason game of the Hall of Fame game, their fourth preseason game becomes the dress rehearsal.
With the injuries to Maurkice Pouncey and the impending suspension of Martavis Bryant, I’d be more in favor of the Steelers just mailing it in from here on out of the preseason. I’d be fine with Roethlisberger never suiting up and Antonio Brown being wrapped in bubble wrap to protect him from even a paper cut instead of having those to face a Rex Ryan-led defense, even if it is preseason.
Tomlin has already ruled out Stephon Tuitt from Saturday’s game but wasn’t prepared to close the door on several of the other “walking wounded” players like Lawrence Timmons, Vince Williams, Ross Ventrone, Michael Mitchell and Cortez Allen.
Expect Brad Wing and Jordan Berry to continue their punting competition.
