The Steelers look to rebound from their loss to Seattle with a home-win over the 6-5 Colts on Sunday night.

While the Steelers are game-planning for the Colts in the hopes that Ben Roethlisberger might repeat his last year’s performance against them we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Wednesday, Dec. 2nd.

Ben does not have a concussion

Ben Roethlisberger joined The Cook and Poni Show on 93.7 The Fan on Tuesday and discussed his head injury suffered towards the end of the 39-30 loss to Seattle. Roethlisberger described his decision to self-report his symptom was because of his family.

"“I have played through many injuries but the brain is not an injury you want to play with.” – Ben Roethlisberger"

At the time, Roethlisberger indicated that he had been diagnosed with a traumatic ocular migraine and had completed the concussion protocol. By the time Mike Tomlin’s press conference came around, there was a different story.

Ben does have a concussion

When Mike Tomlin addressed the media later on Tuesday he explained that Ben Roethlisberger was, indeed, diagnosed with a concussion and will go through the league’s concussion protocol.

"“Right now both guys (Roethlisberger and linebacker Ryan Shazier) are in concussion protocol and will remain in protocol, even if they feel better. We will do what we always do – we will be diligent with our care and lean on the advice of our medical team.” – Mike Tomlin"

The difference in stories is explained by the fact that Roethlisberger had taken a concussion test prior to his radio appearance and the results were not available until after he had gone on the air. When Tomlin gave the presser he was giving the most accurate and up-to-date information available.

Roethlisberger will have to be cleared by the NFL’s concussion protocol before he can begin practicing this week.

So you’re saying there’s a chance?

Steelers fans have been waiting to see cornerback Brandon Boykin on the field since he was signed during training camp. For one reason or another whether he left a floater in the coaches’ bathroom or stole Tomlin’s pudding cup out of the cafeteria fridge, or just hasn’t latched on to the playbook as much as hoped to this point he hasn’t seen much of the field on the defensive side.

Next: Steelers Tomlin Tuesday

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler explains that Tomlin intends to explore the option of moving cornerback William Gay to the outside and giving Boykin a chance to play the slot. Something has got to give, that’s for sure.
