Steelers vs. Broncos fantasy outlook

The Steelers big offense goes toe to toe with the NFL’s number one defense.

The Steelers big offense hosts the Denver Broncos this Sunday who boast the NFL’s number one defense. Denver is not without weapons of their own but Brock Osweiler whiles successful has not been putting up eye-popping stats up to now. Let’s look at who you should be playing this week.

MUSTS: Heath Miller, Ben Roethlisberger, Demaryius Thomas

Despite having the best defense in the NFL (first against the pass, third against the run) the Broncos have given up points on occasion so who better to capitalize than Big Ben. Roethlisberger has been excellent at home averaging 28.5 points in the four games since the injury that kept him away for a bit.

The team is surging as they know big things are at stake and Ben has to produce to get another W. When facing tougher defenses such as those of the Bengals and Seahawks, Miller has been his outlet with ten catches last week, I see more of the same here with the Broncos having such a serious pass rush.

On the opponent’s side, the Steelers are still giving up a lot of points to big play receivers and Demaryious Thomas fits that profile. Last week A.J. Green had a very big game with backup quarterback A.J. McCarron, so it is likely for the same sort of thing to occur this week.

MIGHTS: Broncos DST, Steelers DST

The Broncos defense is a must start every week but they come into a hostile environment against a high-octane offense so this may be more of a down week for them, even if it is how do you not play them really. The Steelers defense has been good at home as of late and the Broncos run heavy, zone blocking scheme may be something that Keith Butler has the answer for.

MISSES: Broncos Running backs, Emmanuel Sanders, Brock Osweiler

It is unsure who will be starting at running back so between the three backs that will be in the line up Sunday all of them are touchdown dependant and probably not good for more than ten points. Emmanuel Sanders has been declining since Osweiler became the starter, and I dont think his former team is going to take it easy on him.

Since becoming the starter Osweiler’s best game has been just over 18 fantasy points which is pretty good but as most players are in their league’s semi finals now they most definitely have a better QB lined up so even in desperation you are better off with Alex Smith or T.J. Yates.
