The Steelers head back out on the practice field to prepare to face the Browns in the regular season finale.

While the team prepares for the Browns we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Thursday, Dec. 31st.

Brown named Steelers MVP

More from Steelers News

For the third time Steelers receiver

Antonio Brown

was

voted by his teammates

as the 2015 Steelers team MVP. He’s the fourth player in franchise history to earn the honors three times.

Rod Woodson

,

Jerome Bettis

and

Hines Ward

were also voted team MVP at least three times each.

Brown is second in the NFL in receptions and receiving yards and set an NFL record by having the most receptions in three consecutive seasons (362) and was also the first player in NFL history to record two games with 15 or more receptions in a single season game.

Williams a close second

While it was clear that Antonio Brown was the runaway winner of the Steelers team MVP ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler suggests that running back DeAngelo Williams should have been a close second in the voting. While signing with the team this spring to primarily be the backup to Le’Veon Bell, Williams has surpassed expectations and then some.

Williams is in the top 10 in rushing for the year in the league and that’s with the games where when Bell was healthy Williams’ role was greatly diminished. Still, without question or hesitation when Bell went down with injury Williams stepped back in and the Steelers offense didn’t miss a beat.

Concussion likely to keep Manziel out

Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel threw for a career-best 373 yards in the 30-9 loss to the Steelers earlier this year but Zac Jackson of PFT explains that Manziel will likely not be able to meet or beat his record on Sunday against the Steelers.

The team reported on Wednesday that Manziel had been placed in the NFL’s concussion protocol, making him likely out for Sunday’s game. Perhaps they thought he has a concussion because he can’t seem to go more than a few days without a drunk video of himself surfacing.

Either way, the Steelers will likely face Austin Davis or, wait for it…Terrelle Pryor, who is the Browns’ emergency quarterback. That should be interesting.
