While the Steelers get the pads on and get preparations started on the 2016 regular season we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Thursday, Aug. 4th.

Watch out

No one could ever accuse Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown of not getting after it. The man works out and works on his craft practically 24/7 and the plays he makes on the field only prove how aggressive he is to catch the ball.

In spite of that Brown told ESPN on Wednesday when they filmed First Take at Steelers training camp that he plans to be more aggressive this season after Vontaze Burfict’s head-shot that resulted in the Steelers’ Wild Card victory over the Bengals but kept Brown out of the Divisional Playoff loss to Denver.

More from Steelers News

"“You can’t have no fear. It’s like a NASCAR driver who’s been in an accident. You can’t get into the car with fearful thoughts. You have to have faith. You just have to go out there and be more aggressive.” – Antonio Brown"

If Brown wasn’t already being aggressive by racking up the most receiving yards in the last two seasons that any receiver in NFL history accumulated in two seasons then I don’t know what to expect this year. But I’m excited.

Step up

With the injury to cornerback Senquez Golson the Steelers secondary has to shuffle the deck before the season has even started. After feeling so horrible for Golson your mind immediately turns to, “What now?” and it seems that this year’s second-round pick might be the answer.

Ed Bouchette of the PPG reminds us that Sean Davis’s versatility had him playing both safety and cornerback for Maryland which is why he was thrust into the slot during Monday’s practice when Golson went down. Seems as though we’re going to be seeing Davis on the field a lot this year.

Night night

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is a big fan of the whole process of preparing for the games. He makes no secret of that. He’s a big fan of just coaching in general. Teresa Varley explains how Tomlin goes beyond the playbook to provide preparation to his players.

Tomlin brought in a sleep specialist to training camp to speak to the players about the value and importance of good sleeping habits.

If I knew this was going on I would have volunteered my services. I am a sleep expert. I do it quite often and I’m quite good at it. Quite good. Waking up; that’s another story.
