After a horrible outing against the Eagles the team now has to regroup and focus on the Chiefs. While they get to work on their game plan we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Tuesday, Sept. 27th.

Look whose back

The Steelers might have lost by their biggest margin in decades on Sunday in Philadelphia but they gained a running back on Monday. Le’Veon Bell rejoined the team from his three-game suspension for missing league-mandated drug tests.

He talked to Teresa Varley on what kind of impact he intends to make on the offense this season.

"“I want to be a guy that is reliable. I want to take care of the football, make plays in situational downs, get in the end zone and help the offense move the ball and win games. That is what I feel like I can do and I look forward to it.” – Le’Veon Bell"

Yes. All of that. Move the ball and with the games. We’d like more of that please.

Shots fired

There was a lot of feelings on Twitter on Sunday during the Eagles’ 34-3 shellacking of Pittsburgh on Sunday. One could say that former Pittsburgh cornerback Brandon Boykin was feeling like dispensing on some shade towards his previous team.

Boykin is currently on Injured Reserve with the Chicago Bears. He suffered a pectoral injury in training camp. Justin Gilbert hasn’t seen much action so far but he was definitely considered a project when the Steelers traded for him. So there.

Hall of Famer?

The loss was pretty bad, there’s no denying that but just about everyone has been prone to exaggeration about it. Defensive end Cameron Heyward told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz was just too much to handle for Pittsburgh’s defense.

"“He played like a freakin’ Hall of Famer. I don’t know how many passes he missed, but he managed the game, got the ball to his receivers, got the ball to the running backs. We just have to get a lot better.” – Cam Heyward"

Yeah they need to get better indeed. The defense gave up 426 total yards and never got Wentz down at all. In fact, the defense has only one sack through the first three games. They need to get better indeed.
