The Pittsburgh Steelers headed to the NFL Draft with holes to fill, and they’ve filled them.

Besides Ben Roethlisberger’s successor, the Pittsburgh Steelers have tackled every aspect of the NFL Draft they were hoping to. T.J. Watt, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Cameron Sutton, and James Conner fill almost every void in the roster.

For Watt, he’ll step in and play the edge rush role immediately. Pairing with James Harrison, Watt will likely get the bulk of the load and be used as an outside pass rusher who will be some coverage as well.

Smith adds a wide receiver presence the Steelers were missing. Instead of the crazy fast deep threat fans believed they would target, Pittsburgh jumped on a player with insane hands, pro-ready strength, and some of the best overall skills at the position.

Where he’ll fit into this rotation won’t be known until the season starts. If Martavis Bryant or Sammie Coates is the man the Steelers are looking to replace, chances are, they’ll be gone by the time August rolls around.

With Cameron Sutton, he’ll be relied on at both corner and safety. With a hopeful Senquez Golson returning in 2017, the nickel position will likely be filled, but Sutton will be the man bouncing around the secondary helping everyone.

As an explosive defensive back with ridiculous athleticism, Sutton will be a game-changer for the defense. He’ll use his coverage skills to be one of the top turnover machines on the team. When he and Artie Burns are on the outside together, this Pittsburgh defense is going to be one you do not want to throw against.

Then, there’s the hometown hero, James Conner. There may not be a better story in the draft – battling and defeating cancer, then returning to the field and dominating for Pitt. Now, he stays in the Steel City and continues his journey where it all began.

He’ll walk into the locker room as a backup running back to Le’Veon Bell, but to the fans, he’ll be one of the favorites. No one believed they could replace DeAngelo Williams both on and off the field, but let me tell you, they most certainly did.

So far, this team is perfect through two days. With four rounds left, the Steelers need to find a quarterback. That’s not much to ask for with rounds 4-7 left.

This team has quickly gone from strong AFC contender to serious Super Bowl threat in 48 hours. They now have every aspect of their team complete and need almost nothing to help them achieve greatness.

They’ve taken advantage of a loaded draft class without making any moves. That’s impressive for a team with the 30th pick in each round. How they finish Day 3 will still impact their 2017 season, but the way it’s flowing right now, they’re headed for another impressive day of draft picks.
