Defensive Player of the Year – Cameron Heyward

Cameron Heyward was the most undervalued player in football in 2017-2018. The man was one of the best pass rushers in the NFL this season, and still, no one wanted to give him his recognition.

Well, his 12 regular season sacks, 45 tackles and 71 yards for loss won’t go unrecognized here. Heyward was hands down this team’s Defensive Player of the Year.

What Heyward brings to this team is way more than plays on the field. He’s one of the biggest voices on the defense. With young players like Artie Burns, Sean Davis and T.J. Watt still developing, Heyward has basically become a mentor with his words and actions.

Heyward is still just getting started. Next season, everyone should expect an even more dominant performance. With a lot to prove after this season, No. 97 is going to be a freak of nature on the field and in the locker room.
