What’s wrong with Chris Boswell?

In two games, Boswell has missed two FGs and three extra points. What? That’s not like him. He’s usually Mr. Clutch. We’ve gotten used to seeing game winners from him. Yet, last week he missed a game winner in Cleveland.

Yes, the weather was terrible. But we’re talking about Chris Boswell. In his brief NFL career, he has developed into one of the league’s premier kickers. He’s like the postman. Neither wind, nor rain, nor pressure will prevent him from making a kick.

Outside of the rain last week. I haven’t seen any bad snaps or poorly placed balls. I also don’t think he’s injured. So why is his kicking subpar to date? Is it mental? Is it the “new contract curse”? I’m leaning towards mental. All I know is he needs to figure it out quick!

Look. I’m not going to sugar coat it. If the Steelers don’t rectify these issues now. They will not make the playoffs.

There is good news. The season is not yet lost. The Pittsburgh Steelers have time to dig themselves out of this self-made hole. But to do so, requires the defense to immediately improve their pass coverage and tackling skills and, Chris Boswell turning back into his old self.

This is not a slow start by the Steelers. dark. Next

They must stress fundamentals and play assignment football. No excuses! No blaming teammates! Understanding that they don’t have much room for error. Each player must play smart and do his job. If not, we can kiss another playoff appearance and seventh Super Bowl victory goodbye.
