It’s not going to patch anything. All Pittsburgh Steelers owner Art Rooney II’s meeting with Antonio Brown does is say goodbye.

Art Rooney II and Antonio Brown close the doors to Brown’s $6.6 million home in Hollywood, Florida. To be a fly on the wall would gift the most wanted discussion in football, but there will be no bugs inside the walls of 3600 Estate Oak Circle.

When it’s all said and done, the Pittsburgh Steelers don’t want their greatest wide receiver to leave with a grudge. Something happened that people are still trying to figure out, but from the details it doesn’t seem as though it’s the team versus the player.

Antonio Brown’s issues are with someone, but who is still up for debate. Ben Roethlisberger appears to be the top name on the list after reports emerged about unfair treatment from the organization and not taking accountability.

One name not on the list is Art Rooney II. Brown has shown nothing but respect for the Steelers’ President and continued to when agreeing to meet with Rooney in Florida next week. But instead of patching things up, like Rooney is hoping, this meeting isn’t going to bring AB back to Pittsburgh.

It’ll bring things together enough to say goodbye peacefully, but AB has already left the Steelers without actually departing. His mindset is with a new franchise and he won’t be the same if he comes back to Pittsburgh next season.

This meeting could bring good, though. Brown has an alarming issue with something inside this organization. Rooney is pushing for change and getting Brown’s side of the story could show where more change is needed to fix the underachieving.

This could mean Ben’s name is brought up. It could mean Tomlin gets the spotlight. We’re yet to hear anything from the mouth of Brown regarding exactly what’s going on. He won’t be so vague when speaking with Rooney. Instead, he’ll let him know exactly what’s going wrong.

What the conversation leads to is beyond our knowledge. Rooney is going to analyze everything told to him and if needed, he’s a man to make a move for the sake of the team. He won’t get his All-Pro receiver back, but when the doors reopen and the two sides go their separate ways there won’t be hard feelings, just respect and more input as to what needs to be fixed.
