Josh Dobbs/Mason Rudolph/Devlin Hodges

It’s really hard to get a good feel for quarterbacks in the preseason as they are playing with and going against backups. However, Josh Dobbs and Mason Rudolph each had their moments in the spotlight.

Rudolph’s numbers were a bit inflated because of a 59 yard catch and run from Johnny Holton on a crossing route, but he had a really nice game. No Steelers quarterback finished with a passer rating under 97.0.

Ulysees Gilbert

Ulysees Gilbert didn’t come in until late in the game, but he sure was impressive when he took the field. Gilbert flew around the field and made multiple plays in the backfield. He finished the game with 3 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 4 quarterback hits, and an interception on a 2-point conversion attempt in limited 2nd half action.

Tyler Matakevich

‘Dirty Red’ is making a serious case for why he should stick around on this roster. He didn’t play a lot, but made perhaps the biggest defensive play of the game with a key sack/forced fumble. Matakevich was solid in his first preseason action.

Ola Adeniyi

Though he didn’t record a sack in Friday night’s game, he didn’t disappoint either. Ola had 5 tackles, a quarterback hit, and a handful of pressures. He showed consistency rushing the quarterback and was one of the bright spots on their defense.
