How will Mason Rudolph do in his first official start?

Mason Rudolph will make his first official start of his young career on Sunday. He came in for his first game in relief of Ben Roethlisberger last week against the Seahawks.

Mason Rudolph flashed at some points last week against the Seahawks. He had a great downfield pass to Juju Smith-Schuster on a flea-flicker. Hopefully, that pass will give the young quarterback some confidence going into week three.

The biggest strength I see in Mason Rudolph’s game at this point in his career is his intelligence. He showed that at Oklahoma State as well. He shows the ability to pick apart a defense and use deception to read the play.

Mason Rudolph doesn’t have the strongest arm on the team. He also isn’t the most accurate. The hope is that he can develop in those two areas. I hope that he develops into a game manager this season that keeps the Steelers in games by not turning the ball over.

We will see how he does in his first start where he is the quarterback the defense is preparing for. We will also see how he moves the ball, and that should be an indicator of how good this offense will be this year.
