Steelers can win if defensively…

The Black & Gold have a big task on their hands: dominate the line of scrimmage.

Boy, that is a tough one. The Colts have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. The Steel Curtain, however, have one of the most productive front seven squads in the league.

The Steelers have to start this battle by eliminating the ground game and Marlon Mack. Mack has rushed for over an average of 80 yards a game this season, leading the Colts to 130 a game.

The Steelers cannot let him get loose. Otherwise, Pittsburgh’s defense will have a long afternoon.

If they can manage to establish dominance on the line, this will put them in an optimal position to do what they do best: rush the quarterback.

Though they have only allowed 11 sacks this season, the Colts have a young offensive line. With Butler’s tendencies to throw stunts and exotic blitzes from time to time, it could create stress in pass protection.

The Steelers have recorded 24 sacks to this point and would like to continue this trend on their way to victory. This game will ultimately come down to the trenches for both sides of the ball.

Pittsburgh will have the luxury of its second consecutive home game. If they can gain momentum early and put the pressure on the Colts passing game, they can beat this tough Colts team.
