James Washington: stock – up

Washington has had a solid last couple of games. He had four receptions for 69 yards against the Colts, including two very tough catches.

Sunday, against the Rams, the young receiver continued his good play with six catches for 90 yards and an impressive touchdown. He did have a fumble after a huge chunk play but the Rams did not make anything of it.

That fumble was in Rams territory, however, and could have resulted in at least three more points for an offense that struggles to get scores these days. Washington stepping up would be huge over the second half of the season to help open things up for JuJu Smith-Schuster and the rest of the offense.

Pass catchers: stock – down

There were some players who caught the balls they were expected to but, overall, it was ugly. Nearly every receiver had a drop on offense and that is not going to help their second-year QB at all.

There were drops in key moments that could have resulted in first downs and those are very costly when the offense already struggles to keep drives moving. The skill positions need to do a better job of holding on to passes.

Mason Rudolph threw some slightly inaccurate balls on some of the drops but most were still very catchable passes. Rudolph couldn’t have put some of the passes in any better locations and they need to be caught if this team wants to win ball games.
