Extend Bud Dupree

Speaking of Dupree, the former 2015 1st round draft choice should be Pittsburgh’s biggest priority this offseason. After a disappointing start to his career that included no more than 6.0 sacks in a single season throughout his first four years, Dupree has finally come alive – earning more tackles, tackles for a loss, sacks, and forced fumbles than any other season.

Signing Bud Dupree won’t be easy, and with the season he is having, it’s possible that the edge rusher could make over $15 million per year on his next contract. The Steelers will need to find the cap space and weigh the risk/reward before pulling the trigger on this move, but it would probably be wise to keep this remarkable defensive core together.

Extend Matt Feiler

Again, the Steelers are going to be very tight against the cap next season, but Matt Feiler is a guy I would love to get extended (for the right price). It’s hard to get a good gauge of what that number might be. Outside of David DeCastro, Feiler has been the most consistent and perhaps the best offensive lineman in Pittsburgh this year.

Steelers offensive lineman have had success hitting the market in the past as Kelvin Beachum and Chris Hubbard both brought in big paydays. Feiler is arguably better than both, so there is a chance that Pittsburgh will have no choice but to let him test the market this offseason.
