Offensive tackle: 2nd round

Apart from quarterback, offensive tackle might be the most highly-coveted position in the NFL. Teams look for help at tackle this year. As a result, players are often over-drafted.

However, this offensive tackle class is especially good at the top – primarily the first round. Players like Jedrick Wills, Andrew Thomas, Tristian Wirfs, and Mekhi Becton are all players who should be long-time NFL starters with Pro Bowl upside. Unfortunately, all four will be long gone before the Steelers pick at 49.

Outside of them, there are a few players who have a slight chance of slipping because of the depth in this class. Among the next best in line are Josh Jones, Ezra Cleveland, Lucas Niang, and Prince Tega Wanogho.

The Steelers should have their tackles in place for the 2020 season, but it remains to be seen who will be returning beyond this year. It’s a good offensive tackle class, but if Pittsburgh misses out on the talent early, they could be better off waiting.

Top Choices:

  1. Jones Jones, Round 2
  2. Ezra Cleveland, Round 2
  3. Lucas Niang, Round 2
