OG Kevin Dotson (4th round):  C

I don’t dislike Kevin Dotson, and there is no question the Steelers needed to address the offensive line at some point in this draft. However, Dotson wasn’t my best player available, and I think a player like Tyler Biadasz would have been a better option for the interior offensive line.

Dotson offers some intrigue though. He’s a big, physical football player with a violent play style. I’m never opposed to taking small-school players with solid upside late in the draft, and Dotson fits the bill. He will be a backup interior offensive lineman to begin his career, but he has upside if a starter if he continues to learn and grow as a player.

S Antoine Brooks Jr. (6th round): B-

I wasn’t crazy about this pick for the Steelers. Antoine Brooks is more of a box safety than a roaming player on the backend. Brooks tested as a below-average athlete and does most of his damage near the line of scrimmage, but he still possesses some value.

At 220 pounds, Brooks is in the 91st percentile for weight at the position, but his size will allow him to play more of a safety/linebacker hybrid role in the NFL. Either way, Pittsburgh is razor-thin at the position, and Brooks will stand a decent shot at making the team in 2020.
