Minkah Fitzpatrick: 45% chance

This one was one of the hardest players to nail a percentage to because of the one-year sample size, but I ended up giving Minkah Fitzpatrick just under a coin-flips chance of making the Hall of Fame one day. There are several reasons for this.

For starters, Minkah was incredibly impressive last season – earning 10 turnover-worthy players and taking the ball away 8 times (5 interceptions, 3 fumble recoveries). But it’s more than just his statistics; he showed incredible instincts and play recognition for a player his age. As a result, Fitzpatrick allowed just 13 of 25 passes to be completed in his coverage last year for a 46.3 passer rating, according to Pro Football Reference.

In addition, earning first-team All-Pro honors by the age of 23 is something only Earl Thomas has done at the safety position in the past decade. However, Fitzpatrick accomplished that feat this year for the Steelers. Entering his age 23 season, the sky is the limit for what he could accomplish.

Though it’s unfair to expect Minkah to repeat his takeaways he recorded last season, 4 first-team All-Pros is typically the threshold number for the Hall of Fame. Fitzpatrick is well on track, but we need to see that this isn’t just a one-year fluke.
