Terrell Edmunds still has a long way to go

Unfortunately, Terrell Edmunds is the exact same player he was last season – at least in the early going. Though he led the Steelers with 9 tackles (7 solo), it’s because he was often giving up receptions over the middle of the field.

Many fans had very high hopes for Edmunds this year. The former first-round draft choice out of Virginia in 2018 is tested as an incredible athlete for the safety position. Unfortunately, he doesn’t ever seem to put it to good use. Now entering his third NFL season, Edmunds did not record a pass defense in Week 1 despite being heavily targeted by Daniel Jones this game.

Edmunds has now gone over 30 starts without creating a single takeaway. He will really need to make strides in pass coverage if the Steelers want to get anywhere close to first-round value out of him.
