Joey Porter

Porter was the first major standout pass-rusher for Pittsburgh in the modern era of football. He was able to play alongside Jason Gildon and become one of the best to ever get after the passer. Porter was the heart of the defense for many seasons and even helped the team win Super Bowl 40 in Detroit. Porter was able to become a dynamic duo with Gildon and continue his immense success after his teammate left. Porter’s  able to be the vocal heartbeat and leader of this team. His intense speeches and mottos were able to propel the team to that championship level that everyone searches for. He was a special player and he was an even better leader for a team that needed it.

Porter played on other teams towards the end of his career but he is known as a Steeler. Porter played eight years with the team and started 106 games. During those games that he played, he totaled 10 interceptions, 42 pass deflections, 17 forced fumbles, three touchdowns, 468 combined tackles, one safety, 75 tackles for loss, 60 sacks, four Pro Bowls, Super Bowl Champion, two First-team All-pro, and 2000s NFL All-Decade team.
