Steelers were getting pressure

One thing that really helped this team was the pressure that they got on Carson Wentz. This defense did have trouble stopping the Eagles but the pressure did make a difference in this game.

The sacks were spread around. Stephon Tuitt had a key sack that Jonathan Vilma (Fox Broadcast) said saved a touchdown. Bud Dupree had a key sack in the fourth quarter. The Black & Gold had five sacks of Carson Wentz on the day according to ESPN.

The pressure also gave the Steeler’s corners an opportunities. Joe Haden had good coverage on a 3rd and five in the fourth quarter that led to a barely missed field goal by Jake Eliott. Steven Nelson also had an interception off of pressure that might have sealed the game.

It’s great to see the continued “blitzburgh” defense from the Steelers and Keith Butler seems to be coming into his own. Now that the Steelers have some personnel, Butler can carry out this scheme.
