Linebacker

This is the biggest need to fill after Devin Bush went down for the rest of the season with a knee injury. Robert Spillane has played well in replacement thus far. However, can the team go where they want to with him starting? Well, the team seems content at the moment with that thought process but it would be smart to add at the deadline. Even if Spillane starts, there is little to no depth behind him on the current roster. Players will need to be added to bring some security behind him. There are some names out there that should get the Steelers attention before the deadline hits.

Some of those names include Myles Jack (Jaguars), Avery Williamson (Jets), Jarrad Davis (Lions), Takkarist McKinley (Falcons), and Ryan Kerrigan (Washington). All of these names above are on expiring deals after this season besides Jack. The Jaguar has had some up and down performances over the last couple of seasons but those were on bad teams. He could really excel in Pittsburgh, the biggest question is whether or not they could deal with his contract after the season concludes.

Names like Williamson and Davis are very intriguing options as both have starting potential and could also add depth behind Spillane if that is what Tomlin wishes to do. The pass rushers are on the market and could add some great reps when Bud Dupree and TJ Watt need a play or two off the field to breathe.

It will be interesting to see if Pittsburgh is active during this years deadline. They normally stay quiet but with holes to fill and hopes of a Super Bowl, this time might be different.
