The Pittsburgh Steelers special teams unit has been so incredible this season.

Ray-Ray McCloud has been a wonderful addition for the Steelers. He had an up and down day returning the ball against a Bengals team that had been covering their kicks ferociously. It didn’t stop him from breaking a 42-yard punt return which he nearly took to the house. Not only did McCloud have a good day considering how tough the other team was playing on special teams, but the rest of the special teams also played very well.

Jordan Berry had a good day. His best punt was a 58 yarder that had enough hang time for Justin Layne to tackle the returner immediately. Chris Boswell didn’t miss any of his field goal or extra point attempts, so it was a nice bounce-back week for him. The biggest mistake that happened on special teams was getting caught off guard deep in the fourth quarter on a fake punt.

There wasn’t a bigger play on special teams than the fumble that Ola Adeniyi forced. Benny Snell Jr. fell on it and that was the most notable play he has had in weeks. That play changed the complexion of the game at the start of it. Pittsburgh had gained 1 first down before punting. However, forcing a fumble on that first punt gave the Steelers the chance to get some points on the opening drive. If they don’t force that fumble, then Joe Burrow leads an explosive offense out onto the field with momentum after their seemingly underwhelming defense managed to stop the only undefeated team in the NFL at the start of the game.

Hot. Why the Steelers defense makes or breaks their unbeaten season. light

All in all, it was an interesting experience for the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10. The comforts just far outweighed the concerns in Week 10. As a result, it is really easy to forget about the bad things in this game when the great things were so amazing. The Steelers threw the ball so well that we had forgotten about the run game. Pittsburgh had generated such a lead, that the Bengals had to throw the ball the whole game and it forced them to play to the strengths of Blitzburgh.
