Start:

Mike Davis, Car, vs. Det

Davis has started most of the year due to a high ankle sprain and shoulder injury that has kept Christian McCaffrey out for 7 games. In his first few starts, Davis filled McCaffrey’s shoes to an extent. Of course, he wasn’t putting up the same numbers as McCaffrey, but he was a top-5 running back after the injury.

As of recently, Davis has struggled to find the end-zone and this has hurt his fantasy stock. Davis is my favorite running back start of the week. He gets to go against the last-ranked run defense in the league and should produce a minimum of 20 fantasy points.

D’Andre Swift, Det, vs. Car

As of recently, Swift has seen more and more touches which have produced more fantasy points. I love Swift this week in all leagues this week, primarily PPR. Swift is going against a struggling Lions run defense who have allowed 142 rushing yards per game, according to team rankings. Swift is also heavily involved in the pass game, as he posted 5 receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown last week. I can see him repeating those numbers this week.

Sit:

Todd Gurley, Atl, vs. NO

Gurley’s had an over-achieving year up to this point. He’s seeing a lot of touches week in and week out but he is non-existent in the passing game. This makes him extremely touchdown-dependent. I’m not a big fan of touchdown-dependent fantasy running backs.

He is playing against a fantastic New Orleans run defense that has proven to give running backs a hard time this year. Brain Hill, the backup running back on the Falcons has also seen a lot more playing time as of recently. It’s hard to sit Gurley since he’s the 10th running back in fantasy this year but I’d do look to go with someone else this week.

Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones ll, TB, vs. LAR

This has been a true committee backfield when both are healthy. Jones put up 24 fantasy points against a poor Carolina defense but I wouldn’t start him this week. They have to play a good Rams defense who have proven to shut down the run all season. They will probably split carries 50/50 and I’m not a fan of starting running back committees. I’d look to start Kalen Ballage if he is still on the wire.
