There may not be a quarterback as great as Ben Roethlisberger is after a loss.

For the Steelers quarterback, there isn’t much he does better than bounce back after a disappointing outing. Back in 2016, Roethlisberger extended a ridiculous streak to 11 straight wins after a loss. I’ve done the math since that game, Starting with his next loss in 2016, Ben’s average yards per full game, after a loss or tie, is just over 252 yards, his average touchdowns thrown is just over 1.8 and his average interceptions thrown is .69. If you don’t like averages, in his last 13 games after a loss or tie Ben has thrown for 3,673 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions.

I don’t know if it’s how he prepares, or if it is his ability to focus his team after a loss. His record in these 13 games is 8-5. It isn’t as good as his previous streak of 11-0, yet his individual performances after losses have been great throughout his career. If a lot of critics are correct that Ben’s play is what holds back this pass-heavy offense, then this offense could look like the best offense in the league against the 18th scoring defense in Buffalo.

I’m not saying to expect another 300-yard, 5-touchdown performance like that win against Kansas City, yet I would not be surprised to see Ben’s best football this season. It wouldn’t be unreasonable to think that he could hit 350 yards passing for the first time this season. I don’t expect the Bills to be able to handle Ben this week in the slightest.
