Jack Butler

Butler was the best player for the Steelers during their tumultuous run as a team in the 50s. They had some successful seasons for the first time as a franchise but for the most part, they were not considered contenders. Butler was the brightest light for the Steelers during this decade as he was a dominant corner when the game began to change. The NFL was becoming more and more of a pass-happy league and that allowed Butler to pile on interceptions and great stats.

Butler only played in the league for nine seasons but he made an amazing impact. He got to play for his hometown Steelers his entire career before his retirement. His 6’1 frame allowed him to be a physical freak against his opponents lined up across from him.

Butler only missed two games during his entire career, while starting in 102. He was able to make a stat sheet of 52 interceptions, four touchdowns, 10 fumble recoveries, one fumble recovered for a touchdown, four Pro Bowls, four First-team All-Pros, and Hall of Fame inductee class of 2012.
