Baron Browning, LB Ohio State

If the Steelers searching for a player who would compliment Devin Bush perfectly at inside linebacker, look no further than Ohio State’s Baron Browning. Ohio State has had a terrific track record in terms of recruiting and developing quality linebackers. Ryan Shazier was one of them. While Browing is no Shazier in terms of athleticism, he can still move very well for a man his size.

Browing came into the Senior Bowl measuring at 6’3” and 241 pounds with 33” arms, 10” hands, and an impressive 81” wingspan. He can lay a beating on the ball carrier going downhill and is still smooth enough to show some coverage prowess. His elite length will certainly help him in this department.

Vince Williams is 31 years old and the veteran linebacker is going to be due over $7 million next season. In addition, he has been a major liability in coverage – especially in his old age. If the Steelers are willing to spend a day-two pick, they could really improve their defense in the middle of the field and have their inside linebackers set for years.
