Tua Tagovailoa

Though the Miami Dolphins chose to pass on a quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft, there is plenty of reason to believe that former Alabama star, Tua Tagovailoa, could be on the table next offseason. The Dolphins have one of the most talented rosters in the league and impressive draft capital to boot. If Tua doesn’t live up to Brian Flores’s standards in 2021, the team could look to move on from him after just two seasons.

While this would raise some red flags, it doesn’t necessarily mean that Tagovailo wouldn’t be worth trading for. Instead, it could simply be that the Dolphins found an opportunity to capitalize on a quarterback in the draft.

If the Steelers traded for a player like Tua who would still have two years and a fifth-year option on his rookie deal, they would have an ample amount of money to pour into the offensive line and build around him. Tagovailoa doesn’t have the best arm, but he meets the thresholds for movement skills and has shown to be an incredibly accurate passer during his time at Alabama. This could be worth exploring for Pittsburgh next season.
