Jordan Love

If the Packers manage to hash things out with Aaron Rodgers, perhaps they would be willing to make Jordan Love available for trade. As I stated earlier, Rodgers isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and if Green Bay really cares about making him happy, they will deal with the young quarterback behind him.

Between the two quarterbacks, I would obviously rather have Rodgers – even in his old age. I was never a huge Jordan Love fan in college, but he was very young when drafted and two years in the NFL could really help him.

While Love would be widely unproven, he would have a chance to develop into a long-time franchise quarterback for the Steelers. The former first-round draft choice clearly has talent. At 6’4” and 224 pounds, Love tested as a terrific athlete and has a cannon to sling the ball down the field. Love isn’t a runner, but he has plus movement skills in the pocket. However, he really needs to cut down on poor decision-making and improve his overall accuracy – something he may be able to do in time.

If the Packers elected to go this route and hang onto Rodgers, they would be looking for a decent return out of their young quarterback – potentially even the first-round pick they acquired him with. It would be up to the Steelers to decide whether or not he is worth the gamble.
