Steelers OT Dan Moore Jr.

This one pains me to say, as I was ready to board the Dan Moore hype train. However, I’m not going to pretend like he was one of the winners in this contest. Moore easily had his worst showing of the four exhibition games he played in this summer.

Though he wasn’t credited with allowing a single pressure in his first three contests of the preseason, via PFF, he allowed several in the preseason finale against the Panthers.

To be fair to him, most of this came when he was at right tackle – a position he’s really only played for a few weeks now. However, he had some ugly pass sets that included one of the most obvious missed holding calls I had ever seen.

Chukwuma Okorafor was no treat either, and if he struggles early in the season, perhaps the Steelers would be open to a switch at left tackle. However, Moore certainly didn’t help his cause in this contest.

There is still much more to digest from this preseason finale, but these six players clearly hurt their stock against the Panthers. Fortunately, these aren’t guys we will have to rely on too often during the regular season.
