3. Steelers should run more No-Huddle offense

The Steelers’ offense has looked stagnant thus far this season, struggling to get much going in both the running game and the passing games.

While the team hasn’t looked great on the offensive side of the ball much this season, when they have been at their best they have been running the No-Huddle offense, yet they still have barely used it. Just because they are going without a huddle does not mean that they have to run an extreme hurry-up offense, rather running the no-huddle could just prevent the defense from making substitutions. If the defense isn’t ready that is when the team could opt to hurry up their play selection.

While there is a fear that running No-Huddle could tire out the defense, the Steelers could just run a slow-paced no-huddle offense to keep the defense from substituting, while still giving their defense some time to rest.

This isn’t necessarily something they have to do every drive, but the team would be smart to mix it in more, particularly as their scoring drives thus far this season have mostly come at the end of halves when they’ve been forced to move down the field without a huddle.

2. Steelers should bench Chukwuma Okorafor for Zach Banner

Obviously, Zach Banner must be healthy first in order to do this, but if he is healthy the Steelers should look to insert him into the lineup as soon as possible. Adding a new piece to the starting lineup could be the spark that this unit needs to get things going in the right direction.

Banner is eligible to return this week from injured reserve, but it remains to be seen if he will be healthy enough to be activated this week. When he is reinserted into the starting lineup, the team should keep Dan Moore Jr. in the starting lineup at left tackle and bench Okorafor.

The entire offensive line has struggled thus far this year, but as a rookie who still has untapped potential, Moore has a much higher ceiling than Okorafor, who the Steelers know what he can be. With Moore having a higher ceiling and showing he has a comparable floor, he without a doubt should remain in the lineup, as the Steelers need any upside they can get from this unit in order to help clear some running lanes for Najee Harris and keep Roethlisberger upright in the passing game.

The Steelers need to change something on the offensive line, whether it is bringing in a free agent like Mitchell Schwartz or making the move to enter Banner back into the starting lineup. The Banner option is much more likely, which is why the team needs to make sure to start him as soon as he is healthy enough to play.
