The Steelers and the Bears are two of the oldest franchises in the NFL. As expected, when they face each other, anything can happen and generally does.

Monday night’s matchup between these clubs proved no exception to that rule, especially since they also played the game on Monday night. The Monday night game typically has its own unique history within the NFL when it comes to odd stats.  You had more milestones starting with head coach Mike Tomlin, and of course, what game is not complete with a Big Ben milestone as well. Also just any number of plain unusual and odd stats relating to the offense, defense, and even the kicking game.

The Steelers edged the Bears out by two points, and it was their first win by two points since beating the Colts by 2 points in 2019. However, the most notable result from the win is that they moved from third place to second place in the AFC North and are a game behind the Ravens when they resided in the AFC North basement three short weeks ago.

With that, the most significant stat is that Mike Tomlin cemented his legacy in franchise history by not only getting his first win over the Bears, Mike Tomlin also moved into second place as the winningest head coach in Steelers history. He now has 150 wins surpassing Bill Cowher, and he only needs 44 more wins to pass Chuck Noll as the winningest head coach in franchise history.
