6 former Steelers that could be brought back in free agency

Steelers could bring back Adeniyi
A name that the team likely regrets getting rid of last year, Olasunkanmi Adeniyi followed Bud Dupree to the Titans last offseason on a minimum salary contract. He was penciled in as the third edge rusher and rotational support, and he didn’t disappoint. Adeniyi had his best season as a pro, playing 20 percent of the defensive snaps and wracking up 2.5 sacks while still being a key special teams player.
Instead of bringing back Adeniyi last season, the Steelers signed Melvin Ingram. While he is the better pass rusher, he also was discontent with his role on the team and forced his way out via a trade. With him gone, the team is in a similar spot as they were last season. There is no clear-cut third edge rusher, and the team will have to add theirs either through free agency or the draft.
If the Titans let Adeniyi walk, the Steelers should be quick to give him a call. He showcased an improved pass-rush skill set while also being one of the core special team’s players for Tennessee last season. He can come in and revise his role as a depth piece and pick up more responsibilities on special teams. He would be a savvy option to return this offseason on a cheaper deal.
