Steelers could trade for Hamler

While the Broncos certainly won’t be selling major assets now that Russell Wilson has joined the team, a name like K.J. Hamler could see themselves traded due to the top three receivers being set and the team naturally needing more draft capital now. While having him as a depth piece would be fine, the Broncos may ultimately move him.

Things haven’t gone Hamler’s way since being drafted in the second round of the draft. While he blew up his combine, he never really found much footing in the Broncos locker room. While many will point out that he is coming off an injury that limited his entire 2021 campaign to just three games, he wasn’t getting the consistent looks in that frame to warrant him being a lock for the roster this season.

The Steelers, meanwhile, need to find a capable slot receiver to fill in now that JuJu Smith-Schuster is off the roster. Hamler could be that guy, as he has the size and speed to excel on the inside of an offense. Given his limited play and the fact he is coming off an injury, Hamler should be pretty affordable on top of this. He is a name that makes a good deal of sense for the team now that they officially need some receiver help.
