Steelers must sign a veteran WR

The Steelers need to add some weapons on offense. With the departure of JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Washington, and Ray-Ray McCloud, Pittsburgh needs to add a veteran presence to the locker room.

Among the free agents out there, Cole Beasley and Marquez Valdes-Scantling seem like the best options for the black and gold. The Steelers still have Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool, however, they are both still young guys that could use an effective veteran to lead them on the field.

Beasley in particular appears to be the best option for the Steelers given his size and speed. In Buffalo, Beasly just found a sneaky way to get open for Josh Allen. I think it is reasonable to imagine that Pittsburgh could pursue him and not break the bank by signing him.

The veteran experience in the locker room might just help out Johnson and Claypool, who are infamous for dropped passes and bad-timed celebrations, respectively. Beasley also brings stability and experience with him. He seemed to be the most reliable receiver in Buffalo and Dallas.

Finally, another great reason for bringing him in is the notion that Pittsburgh will probably spend a couple of draft picks on wide receivers in the draft. Beasley would be a good teammate to learn from and play with, in terms of player development.
