3 reasons Matt Corral is the best QB option for Steelers in the NFL Draft

Corral has is nowhere near as raw as Malik Willis
I know a lot of fans are banging the table for Malik Willis this year. Some have even said that the Steelers should trade up for Willis or don’t take a QB at all. I don’t necessarily agree with that logic.
While I do think that Willis has absurd upside thanks to his rocket arm and fantastic mobility, there’s no question that he’s the rawest quarterback of the top five prospects this year. On the other hand, Corral would offer the Steelers someone with reasonably high upside but is a significantly more polished football player.
Corral may have run a gimmicky RPO offense in college, but you could still see him go through his progressions at times and make good decisions with the football. I also loved that Corral was able to hang tough in the pocket and routinely step up with pressure barreling down in his face.
Willis, in my opinion, is too quick to escape the pocket when he first read isn’t there. Meanwhile, his accuracy can be all over the place at times, he makes some really poor decisions with the football, and I really question if he knows how to read a defense.
Corral may not have the same upside as Willis, but he’s nowhere near as raw and he might be more likely to actually reach his full potential.
If it were up to me, I would prefer not to select a quarterback at all this year. However, if the Steelers have their hearts set on one, I really think that Matt Corral would be the best fit in Pittsburgh.
