Edge Rushers (6)

T.J.Watt, Genard Avery,  Alex Highsmith, Derrek Tuszka, Tyree Johnson

Right now, at the edge, the Steelers have the best in the business in T.J. Watt. If they have any weakness, it’s an equally talented edge rusher opposite T.J Watt. Nonetheless, he tied the all-time single-season sack record, getting held on nearly every play. Considering he gets double-teamed quite a bit, it makes things easier for Cam Heyward and will make Leal a significant threat.

Alex Highsmith is another very talented linebacker who earned his pay by filling in for Bud Dupree in the 2020 season with the rash of linebacker injuries.

The biggest surprise before the season starts will be Tyree Johnson. When you look at how he plays, he is very similar to James Harrison in some ways. He can be an explosive pass rusher. He also has some eye-popping bend and ankle flexion at the turn. While an undrafted free agent, the same as James Harrison, he could be an unpolished gem and stands a good chance of surviving the cuts and making the team.

Although he could find himself relegated to the practice squad, Scott Delontae might be the odd man out in the edge-rushing group, and the other undrafted rookie, T.D. Moultry
