Best trait: Ability at the catch point, natural football ability

George Pickens has a lot of traits that make him one of the most interesting wide receiver prospects entering the NFL in 2022. The Georgia product absolutely pops out on tape at times with spectacular catches.

This happens frequently because Pickens has a large catch radius and is phenomenal when the ball is put up for grabs. I don’t see this going away in the NFL either. Pickens is an incredibly natural football player with terrific hand-eye coordination. That will get him far with the Steelers.

Worst trait: Run-after-the-catch ability

While Pickens is a big, physical receiver, he doesn’t offer a whole lot of wiggle after the catch. This isn’t to say that it’s something that can’t improve at the next level (after all, he was just 20 years old last season).

However, statistics showed that he was well below average in yards after the catch per reception during his time in Georgia. Pickens also has some character/maturity issues that some teams flagged during the pre-draft process.
