Steelers Bush

One of the biggest disappointments from last season, Devin Bush returned from his injury and had one of the worst seasons of a linebacker for this team in recent years. While his speed was still there, his processing and ability to predict a play were nonexistent. He would constantly be out of position and get blocked out of plays.

He has a new running mate in former star linebacker Myles Jack. While adding Jack to this defense was a wise move overall, his type of play is similar to what Bush offers. That means they could both be competing for similar snaps. At this point, I would assume that Bush would lose that battle even if he has more experience on this defense than Jack.

While the Steelers not adding a top linebacker in the draft is a good thing for him, the addition of Jack as a whole was a negative step for Bush. He is playing for a lot in the final year of his rookie deal, as free agency may not be that kind to him right now. Jack may cut into his playing time, which overall is a negative for Bush entering the final year of his contract.
