Omar Khan could be the next great GM for the Steelers

Omar Khan was just named the successor to longtime General manager, Kevin Colbert. He has learned behind Colbert for over 20 years and will now get his chance to show if he was paying attention. He has been instrumental in making some competitive teams during his time with the team, which also led to a Super Bowl victory.

He is more of a cap guru, at least that is what got his name out there for GM positions. Khan has been on the short list of hires for other positions like this one before he got the job in Pittsburgh. He is well-deserving and someone who mixes the new and old age of thinking.

His combination and repour with Mike Tomlin will also help the club pick up right where they left off. The normal flow of things will continue on the South Side as Khan enters a few new wrinkles under his regime. Fans should be excited about this new GM and the different front office moves that came with him.

He has added some other assistants to his front office that are younger and have some different strengths. Those abilities will help balance out what Khan brings along with him. It seems like a smart move that should help this team stay competitive for decades to come.
