Mayor Luke And Other Media Whores

That’s Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell showing his true colors. Anybody familiar with state politics is probably not surprised by this naked display of homerism. Everybody knows Fast Eddie is a goose stepping fan of all things Philadelphia, unless of course a team from Pittsburgh is successful. Then his phony grin can be found prominently leading whatever rally or parade our proud city throws for their conquering heroes. Oh what a beautiful place this would be if former Steelers wide receiver Lynn Swann had dethroned this smug douche. I voted for ya Swannie!

On the other side of the weasel politician spectrum is Pittsburgh mayor Luke Ravenstahl. The unfortunately named RAVENstahl was worried his last name might be construed as support for the division rival who stands in our path to glory this Sunday at Heinz Field. Mayor Luke, having evidently solved the city’s budget issues, wiped out unemployment, pushed through all possible urban redevelopment projects, and eliminated crime, put his newfound free time to good use by changing his name to STEELERstahl. The irony meter is in the red on this one as “Stahl” is German for “Steel” which means mayor Opie’s new legal name is Luke Steelersteel.

From those two self-promoting media whores to a third one: Me. Yes, your humble blogger, your MC, your party host, your Ayatollah of Rocknrolla has gone prime time. Jeff, the producer and co-host of the Sports Vortex, a weekly radio show/podcast broadcasting out of Maine, interviewed yours truly about this week’s titanic smackdown with the Baltimore Ravens. If you’d like to hear my nasally cold-ravaged voice talk about all things Stillers, follow this link to download the podcast. Honestly, I always knew I was a yinzer but I never realized how bad my accent was until hearing myself on the radio.  And please skip over my answer to the Hines Ward question as it caught me off guard which lead to a horrible rambling answer.
