Pittsburgh Steelers: Three players injured in win over Bengals
By Edward Hunt
The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Bengals on Sunday 29-14 and they came out of the game relatively healthy. This is a game you fear injuries with the violent nature of this rivalry.
Vance McDonald was injured in the game against the Bengals. It is said to be a knee injury. This kind of injury can have a variety of degrees of severity. There are no reports that this is a severe injury though. It is likely that Vance McDonald is simply week-to-week.
Vance McDonald has had trouble catching up on the offense as he was traded to the Steelers at the beginning of the season. It doesn’t seem as though Ben Roethlisberger and Vance McDonald have had an opportunity to get on the same page. This injury is only going to delay the time it gets for the Steelers to get Vance McDonald comfortable in the offense. McDonald has also struggled with drops in his career and that has been present in the current game.
Marcus Gilbert was out for the game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was replaced by Chris Hubbard who had a rough game. Hubbard has been better filling in for short stints, but the matchup with Carlos Dunlap was a losing one for the Steelers.
It is a good sign that Gilbert was listed as doubtful for the Bengals game as that is an indication that it was possible that he would play Sunday. It might be a sign that he will be able to come back for the game against the Detriot Lions. The hope is that his hamstring fully heals as he re-injured it last week against the Chiefs.
Stephon Tuitt had a surprising injury last week and was ruled out for the game against the Bengals. He was the second player on the roster who sat out against the Bengals. He has a back injury and the hope is that it is not a nagging one.

I would presume that Coach Mike Tomlin will give us an update on his status on Tuesday. Most likely he will say something along the lines of Stephon Tuitt has a back injury and will continue to be monitored and we will let his participation be our guide as to whether he plays.
