Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, Mike Tomlin, took off the gloves for this training camp by intensifying the overall program which included more physicality.

Tackling – Get the man on the ground or we will find some people that can do it. Your taking bad angles, we wont have that this year! This is football and either your moving him or he’s moving you, now what’s its gonna be?

Ah, the sounds of a coaches desire to drag, produce and demand the best out of his players or as Coach Chuck Noll use to say:

"“We gave them every chance but it didn’t work out,  time to get on with your life’s work”."

Road Trip! Yeah boy! Strap Up and the crew ( P.T., BDos, Big Q, Boozmoney and VNaughty) after a night of carousing the Southside until they rolled up the sidewalks, decided it was time to go check out our boys in Latrobe to see what was crackin. Rumors had it that Camp Tomlin was getting it in and dudes were sweating like the main guest at a pig roast, but we had to see for ourselves.

So we piled into our custom made Black ‘n Gold vintage whip and made the trip down Route 30 through all the little towns, going the scenic route through a nice part of Western Pa., still trying to recover from last nights wild n’ out.

We left early thinking that we could get a jump on the crowds, but several cars outfitted in Steelers paint went flying pass, honking horns and yelling at the top of their lungs, but my head was hurting so we kept it on cruise control all the way to the camp. After passing and stopping at what seemed to be a thousand Get-Go’s Convenience joints, for a thousand different reasons, we came upon St. Vincents College, hyped to what appeared to be some type of Rock Concert. But no, it was the atmosphere created by the Black ‘n Gold fans that presented a sea of Steelers gear reminiscent of killer bees nesting around a honeycomb, a sweet sight indeed. Amateur paparazzi, hucksters selling everything needed for a camp experience and food of all kinds grabbed your attention from all angles. We’re thinking, this is lit!

Chuck Noll field, Hallowed Ground, our Field of Dreams, it is everything you could imagine what us Steeler fans consider sacred and our sanctuary of what the Rooney’s had established years ago, football players interacting with fans up close.

Walking around chopping it up with the players, coaches and team officials is always a cool experience. You’ll always get their insights on everything Steelers. Practice (practice, you talking about practice, man?) was about to begin so we had to find some good seats, and I was tired from doing all that walking that I stopped to lean against a shade tree. Not to throw shade at my boy, but the tree started moving and I backed away only to recognize it was big Dan McCullers, lumbering his way to the middle of the field. Even if he has yet to make a dent (pardon the pun) with his position on the team, he certainly should be the first one off of the Team Bus. He would scare the hair off of your neck. I hope he balls out this year, he is an immense talent as well as an immense human being.
