Falling Stock

Jordan Berry

Jordan Berry did not need a game this poor. It takes a lot for a coach to comment on the punting after a game, but it was so bad that Mike Tomlin couldn’t avoid it in his post game press conference.

He needed to prove himself this preseason after a below average year last season. That hasn’t happened, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Pittsburgh has a new punter by Week 1.

Mason Rudolph

Mason Rudolph looks scared to be on the field. He doesn’t pull the trigger on too many passes and to start the game with a pick-six was the last thing his confidence needed.

It’s clear he isn’t an NFL quarterback, right now. He needs time to develop, but the Steelers and the fans were hoping that happened sooner rather than later. Right now, no one should be looking for him to be the second-string quarterback in Pittsburgh. It’s Landry Jones’ job until further notice.

Josh Dobbs

Josh Dobbs solidified his dismissal from Pittsburgh with a pick-six to start the second half. Some of the blow got brushed off because his and Rudolph’s first passes went for a touchdown in the other direction.

Next. Wide Receiver battle getting closer with time. dark

This was not what Dobbs needed, though. If he wanted to stay in Pittsburgh he needed to put on a show and that didn’t happen. You can probably guess that his future isn’t going to be with the Steelers but it would’ve been nice to see him play well with his back against the wall.
