42. Jason Worilds, EDGE (2010)

Jason Worilds is that pass rusher that a lot have fans probably forgot about between LaMarr Woodley and Bud Dupree. As a former Virginia Tech alumni (Tomlin’s ‘go to’ school), Worilds fit the bill of what the Steelers were looking for in an outside linebacker.

Worilds had a strange build for a player on the edge. He stood at just 6’1” but weighted 254 pounds coming out of college. His 4.65s speed and 38” vertical jump no doubt enticed the Steelers. Still, there were some who though Worilds was a reach at pick 52 overall.

Jason Worilds didn’t do much in his first three years in the league, as he only stated 10 games during that time. However, he took off in 2013 – collecting 8.0 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in just 11 starts.

Worilds stuck around for a 5th season in Pittsburgh, where he garnered 7.5 sacks after 16 starts. At just 26 years old, Worilds hung up his cleats for good to reportedly practice his religion as a Jehovah’s Witnesses, according to Chris Wesseling of NFL.com.
