32. Clark Haggans, OLB (2000)

Clark Haggans is a name that younger fans probably don’t remember hearing about. However, he was an extremely successful former 5th round pick by the Steelers.

Haggans played on the Steelers from 2000 to 2007. During which time, he complied 32.5 sacks on some of the leagues best defenses. Though he played ‘Robin’ to Joey Porter’s ‘Batman’ for most of his career, Haggans was no bum.

Though he never made a Pro Bowl in his career, Haggans displayed amazing longevity – playing another five seasons after leaving the Steelers.

Haggans isn’t on the same level as Porter or other great Steelers pass rushers throughout their history, and at no point was he ever the best defensive player on his team. However, his contributions as a former 5th round draft choice exceeded any expectations the Steelers could have had for him.

Haggans finished his career with 503 tackles and 46.5 sacks in 13 NFL seasons.
