3 winners of Pittsburgh Steelers 2019 OTAs

2. James Washington, WR
James Washington is another player who has generated buzz this offseason. That is a good sign because he is a second-round pick who struggled as a rookie but flashed in the game against the Patriots.
Mason Rudolph had this to say about his former OSU and current Steelers teammate:
"“He’s doing great. I think he’s running better. Just like myself, he’s the older guy. He’s kind of managing and coaching some of the wide receivers along with the other leaders in that room, and just general football knowledge, 10 times better. He understands our offense.”"
Although you would guess that Mason Rudolph and James Washington are friends as they were a receiver and quarterback pair at Oklahoma State, it is a good sign that James Washington is getting praise.
The jump from rookie year to second year is usually a transition where players thrive. It would really help the Steelers if he could win a job in three receiver sets and be the receiver they thought he could be before the draft.
